Using the camera on your MacBook Pro is easy and can also be a lot of fun. Turning your camera on really is as simple as opening up one of the apps that use the camera or video function. It’s rare that this doesn’t turn your camera on but if so, just follow the troubleshooting steps and you should be good to go with a quick restart or update. There is another place to check: Safari menu Preferences Websites Camera. Determine if the Facebook website appears in the list to the right. If so you will find a dropdown menu with choices Ask, Deny, Allow.
I'm using a Mac Computer. Quick Tips: The best place to start is to make sure no other program is using the camera. If one is, close it, restart your browser/computer, and try again. Click the Lock Icon on the top left; Find Camera and set to Allow; Refresh the page. Click the lock icon; Click the X next to the Camera. Select the checkbox next to an app to allow it to access your camera. Deselect the checkbox to turn off access for that app. If you turn off access for an app, you’re asked to turn it on again the next time that app tries to use your camera. I hooked up a Logitec Web Cam Pro 9000 to my Mac Mini, it came with software for Windows that allowed me to digitally adjust the pan, tilt, zoom, and resolution on the camera and also had tracking capabilities. Unfortunately Logitec didn’t offer this software for Apple, at least I couldn’t find it.
You can take a single photo or a group of four photos, or record a video using your computer’s built-in camera or an external video camera connected to your Mac.
If you’re using an external video camera, make sure it’s connected to your computer and turned on.

In the bottom left of the window, click the Take a still picture button to take a single photo, or click the Take four quick pictures button to take a sequence of four photos (called a 4-up photo).

When I try to go live on Facebook from my Mac, I get the following message: Camera permission denied
You have blocked camera access. To go live, please update your browser settings to allow access.
I have allowed access on Chrome, I get the same problem on Safari, and I have made sure Chrome is checked in the Permission area. The camera works with Apple products like FaceTime and QuickTime. So, it's not a hardware issue.
I just tried another streaming service, and got a similar message:
You have blocked camera access. To go live, please update your browser settings to allow access.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
